The Vision: From Our Founder/President Bobby Curley

As Trailwhisperer, I have always enjoyed sharing the wonders of our natural surroundings. In 2012, I founded the North Quabbin Trails Association, building on my own diverse experience and training. I am an Appalachian Trail through-hiker, 10th Special Forces Veteran, Kenpo Martial Arts instructor, commercial diver, and private sector business owner. All of this informs my vision of what a trail organization can bring to outdoor community betterment: Sociability and Accessibility for All.

That vision, reflected in our Mission and Steppingstones, has resulted in our custodial stewardship of over 80 miles of trails – and this continues growing in the connection of the 8 geographical basins of the N. Quabbin region.

Our most recent license agreement under the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife “Walking Trails Policy”, designates NQTA as the main stewardship contractor along the Tully 22 mile trail corridor – our vision continues to expand!

Our outreach extends across generations, our partnerships include community members from all walks to life, including trained professionals, diverse trail usage organizations, and local businesses. We are committed to developing trails that are accessible, and we actively seek ongoing feedback from our community partners to enrich the trail experience for everyone. NQTA has evolved to be a generational community betterment organization offering programs for hiking, healing, and the deep enjoyment of nature. We continue to reach far beyond our regional boundaries to keep our vision vital.

As NQTA’s Founder, President and Trailwhisperer, I extend an open hand for each of you to come out and experience the benefits of NQTA trails. Please join us on your pathway into the woods.
